Mounsey Memorials in Chesterfield was acquired by Lidsters of Worksop Ltd in 2009 and all Memorial production now takes place within the factory, which is located alongside our showroom at Lidsters site in Worksop. For more than 60 years our family businesses have developed an enviable reputation for delivering first-rate workmanship and selecting the highest quality natural materials from established and trusted family-run suppliers around the world. We buy directly from all of the major granite producing regions of the world and can, therefore, always source the highest quality material and craftsmanship. This, combined with the knowledge and skills within the Company’s workforce, means that we can always provide our customers with the best overall value.
We are included on the British Register of Accredited Memorial Masons (BRAMM). All of our Memorials are crafted in line with our own stringent quality standards as well as meeting the guidelines set out in the Code of Working Practice of National Association of Memorial Masons (NAMM). This ensures a consistently high level of quality to every customer.
Having developed in-depth knowledge of any Cemetery or Churchyard regulations that may apply locally, our friendly and experienced team can offer guidance and assistance in the selection of an appropriate Memorial. We will work with you to create a unique and lasting Memorial, designed to your specific requirements, within your budget, and that will always be a fitting tribute to your loved one.
Working with granite, limestone, marble, sandstone and slate, our highly skilled masons continue to utilise traditional techniques, such as hand-carved designs, hand-cut lettering and inlaid lead lettering, in addition to more contemporary methods such as diamond pen drawings and sandblasted designs and lettering. Feel free to visit our showrooms in Chesterfield and Worksop, where we have an extensive range of styles and materials on display.
Whilst many Memorials are supplied for fixing in a Churchyard or Cemetery, we also provide a variety of ornaments for placement in the home or garden, as well as a range of Pet Memorials. Additionally, we can also supply Memorial benches, War Memorials, house signs and garden furniture.
In addition to supplying new Memorials, our masons have a wealth of knowledge and experience of cleaning, restoring and adding further inscriptions to existing Memorials. We take particular care to utilise sympathetic techniques when working with older stones, making use of traditional and modern methods, to obtain the best outcome and appearance.
